Monica and JP’s wedding was full of laughter, fun and emotion. They are definitely one of the most expressive and joyful couples we’ve met, and their guests followed suit!
After a sweet first look, with very excited parents and bridesmaids looking on, we wandered around the rocky outcrops of Little Bay for some awesome bridal party portraits. Monica's floaty, beachy dress looked amazing on this windy day!
The wedding ceremony was held at the beautiful Nurses War Memorial Chapel in Little Bay and was officiated by Nicky Surnicky of Marry Me Nicky. The chapel is stunning, with stained glass windows and ocean views, but it was the bride, groom and their amazing families that brought the place to life. Mon and JP incorporated a Unity Cocktail Ritual into their ceremony (definitely our kind of people!), and added a bit of maple syrup to the mix as a nod to their Canadian heritage.
The reception was held nearby the chapel at the Coast Golf Club. The speeches were hilarious and heartfelt, with lots of self deprecation (see the photo of JP making fun of his childhood photograph) and happy tears. More tears came with the father-daughter dance; I doubt there was a dry eye in the house! To compliment the couple’s love of whiskey, they had a cheese wheel cake instead of a traditional one and, of course, a whiskey bar.
We’re just so happy for these cute Canucks, and extra happy that they asked us to be part of their day. We’d love to help capture memories like these for your wedding day, so please get in touch to chat with us about your plans! Nick and Lindsey x
