What an amazing day Beth and Jon had! We were so lucky to take part in their wedding, which took place in two of our favourite places, Sydney’s Inner West and Northern Beaches.
We started the day at the bride’s family home in the Northern Beaches, with a chilled out morning of getting ready. I’ve never seen such an organised bride and bridesmaids; there was no running about or rushing, but then they did start the day at 5:30am! The groom and his family meanwhile had a big morning feast at their home in Sydney’s west, complete with Yia-Yia (Grandma) keeping all the boys in check.
Their Greek wedding ceremony was held at the beautiful St. Gerasimos Greek Orthodox Church in Leichhardt. Upon exiting the church there was so much rice thrown at the couple that we were all finding it in our hair, shoes and underclothes for the rest of the day :) Such a funny moment watching Beth and Jon trying to avoid the onslaught of rice!
We moved on to Freshwater beach in the Northern Beaches to capture some beautiful portraits of the couple and their friends. Freshwater is an awesome location because of the variety of backdrops for photographs. There are sandstone cliff faces, expansive water and sky views from the top of the lookout, the ocean pool and of course the beach itself.
The reception was at the classy Manly Golf Club, so we headed there next to take advantage of the lovely garden paths and lush green of the golf course. The reception was lots of fun, with hilarious and heartfelt speeches, as well as some pretty wild Greek dancing! Thanks again for sharing your day with us Beth and Jon!
